This past Sunday, Prague held its 3rd edition of the Street Food Festival. It was held at Vystaviste Trade Grounds, right next to the lovely Stromovka park. It was a really fun event to attend. It was great to be among so many locals, try the different foods from so many local food vendors, and get a taste of the Czech culture (both literally and figuratively).

There were plenty of Moravian wines to sample. If you’re not familiar, Moravia is a wine producing region in the Czech Republic. There were also soups cooked over an open fire, grilled meats and sauteed calamari to make your mouth water.
There was fresh grilled tuna and oysters, grilled burgers, specialty coffees and teas, and incredibly enticing loaves of fresh baked bread.
There was also no shortage of sweets and desserts. American style brownies and cupcakes were popular items. French style macarons were also a big hit at one of the booths.
Some of things I sampled included tuna and onion quiche from Votre Plaisir, along with a glass of Kamenicanka from the Milijan Jelic family winery in Serbia. For dessert I had cupcakes from B-cake. One was carrot cake with cream cheese icing and topped with white chocolate, while the other was chocolate with chocolate mousse icing topped with a fresh raspberry.
The wine was offered by Winegeek. I was impressed with the group at Winegeek because even though they had a consistent long line, they took the time to talk with each customer and explain the wines in detail to help each person choose the perfect wine. Their passion for wine definitely showed.
There were plenty of tables set up for people to sit and enjoy their culinary treats while listening to a band perform. Afterwards, I took a cue from locals and took a stroll in Stromovka park to work off some of the cupcakes I ate. With the leaves scattered and changing colors, it was a perfect end to a great afternoon at the food festival.
